I’m a specialist OBGYN with a background science degree in ecology. I’m a women’s health advocate and mother.
I live now in the shelter of Pirongia, near the banks of the mighty river Waikato, in the city of Kirikiriroha. But I once lived in the middle of Canada, near the shores of Lake Ontario, and in the summers I would go to the smaller lakes of the North, the deep black lakes of the Canadian Shield, near where my mother was born. When I walk by the Waikato, I remember my childhood swimming in freshwater and being with Papatuanuku.
